Hey, I’m Kat!
… and i’m a recovering people pleaser
My life was always about making everyone happy. I overcommitted, over-apologized, and overshared to keep the peace and keep people smiling. I worked as a TV producer and my world revolved around pitching ideas that networks loved. Pleasing was a way of life.
It looked like I had it all together but my self-esteem was shaky. I was a bundle of nerves, dreading requests because I couldn’t say no. I was consumed by guilt when I did was non-stop worried about not measuring up. I felt invisible, like who I truly am was buried under “go with the flow.” People pleasing left me with rock-bottom confidence, always second-guessing myself.
Then, life threw me a huge curveball—a traumatic brain injury that turned my world upside down. The very thing I relied on to define myself (my job) was gone. Who was I if I wasn’t making everyone happy? My self-esteem, which was totally dependent on others’ approval, was shattered.
That’s when I found a phenomenal therapist who helped me navigate the messiness. Our MO was to boost my confidence. I tapped into my core values and cozied up with fear and guilt. I learned how to set boundaries that actually work and how to be assertive without feeling like a bad person.
When I aligned with what truly matters to me, I found the courage to to back to school in my 30s to become a therapist! Now, I’m on a mission to help others rebuild their confidence and self-worth. I’m so pumped to welcome you into this bright, hope-filled & love filled container.
