Katelyn Urban (she/her)
Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC
Hi, I’m Katelyn (she/her)—it’s really nice to meet you!
I work with kids, teens, and adults who are navigating the hard, tender, in-between places of life—the griefy parts, the “I don’t feel like myself” parts, the anxious-overthinking-shutdown spiral parts.
If you’re here, you might be carrying a lot. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns that no longer fit—but you’re not sure how to shift them. Maybe there are parts of you that are longing for change, and others that are scared to even try. I get that. My approach makes space for all of it.
As a therapist, I work from a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens—blending cognitive and emotion-focused tools with somatic practices and Internal Family Systems (IFS or “parts work”). That means we’ll gently explore the different parts of you that show up in certain situations—like the part that always tries to keep the peace, the part that wants to withdraw, or the part that’s quietly longing to be seen. I believe all of our parts have wisdom—and they’re often just trying to keep us safe in the only way they know how.
My hope is to offer you a warm, steady space where you don’t have to edit yourself. A place to move at your own pace. A place to begin feeling more connected—internally and relationally.
This work is deeply human. It’s not about fixing you. It’s about getting curious. Making space. And slowly building a relationship with yourself that feels less heavy, more honest, and maybe even a little hopeful.
If any of this resonates, I’d love to connect. You’re welcome to book a free 15-minute consult to get a feel for whether working together feels like a good fit.

A bit more about Katelyn
Q: What’s Katelyn like as a therapist?
Gentle, grounded, and quietly insightful.
Katelyn creates the kind of space where you don’t have to rush, perform, or explain everything perfectly. She brings a steady, calming presence—whether she’s working with a child, a teen, or an adult—and she meets you exactly where you’re at.
Q: Who does she work with?
Katelyn works with children, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to cope with life’s challenges. She’s especially attuned to folks navigating change, grief, anxiety, identity shifts, Crime Victim Assistance or just feeling disconnected from themselves or others.
She’s a great fit for people who are thoughtful and self-aware, but still feel stuck—and for kids or teens who need a soft, non-intimidating space to be themselves.

Q: What’s katelyn like outside the therapy room?
Thoughtful, intuitive, and quietly funny.
She’s the kind of person who notices the small things—how the light moves through the trees, the feeling of a slow morning, the quiet pause in a conversation. She finds grounding in nature, practices yoga to reconnect with herself, and finds joy in heading up the mountain to spend time outdoors fishing, golfing, and being out on the water.
People who know her often describe her as calming to be around—steady, present, and deeply kind. And once you hear her laugh (which is insanely awesome), you won’t forget it. It’s the kind of laugh that makes you feel like things might just be okay.
